Before we go

Started the blog  10/03/2013

So here it is, the blog which will follow us through Europe on our cycle path from Prague to Spain eventually.  I dont really know where to start, but how about what we did today?

Well, it is the final few days before we leave, and all was going well today until it wasn't anymore.  I had to finish the work on my long term project car in preparation for driving it to Kent to be stored in my sister's boyfriend's barn whilst we are away.  Turns out rebuilding the entire loom just a few weeks ahead of our leaving date was a bit preemptive of any massive success.  I connected the sensors and ECU back together excited about the possibility of hearing engine noises soon, but was dropped back to earth with the sound of fuel pumps priming then a click-pfft as the main engine fuse blew.  Several resuscitative attempts later and now the throttle position sensor was not reading any value either.  Great.  Time to order a tow truck to take it there instead as I just don't have anymore time to find the issue and concentrate instead on finishing the other jobs that we needed to do before we leave. Like getting J a new phone as she dropped hers like a morning jobbie into the toilet earlier....  Oh, and the day before I send my phone off to Envirophone to get a few quid back, it also packed in for no apparent reason.  Seems all S2's do this at some point, refusing to charge and then not restarting after you shut down.  So not brilliant today, but at least statistically we are shaping up to be a bit luckier when we actually need it!  Happy days.
